“Three years ago, my living room was used for school activities. Parents brought their children here and I started to teach them. This living room is too small and hot for them since there were more than 50 children gather here every day,” said Munifan, teacher of Nurul Haq Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centre.

Munifan lives in Ambesia, a village in Parimo district, Central Sulawesi. With only a 4x3 metre square living room available for lessons, she admitted that she found many difficulties in teaching her students.

Concerned about these conditions, World Vision Indonesia (WVI), in coordination with the Ambesia village government officials and the student’s parents, a new building was started.

The village government officials tooks care all of administrative costs and WVI provided 40 sheets of zinc roofing, nails, 10 sacks of cement, and packs of educational props. The parents worked together to build the ECCD school building.

“The educational props are stored in the new building and all the learning activities are now conducted there,” said Munifan. “Thank you to World Vision for helping us."

Together with other ECCD teachers, Munifan can teach her students in a proper room.
