10 young ambassadors of Asia

Tuesday, May 9, 2017

What is the role of the youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)?

Data from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) says that the youth comprised 16% of the region's population in 2015.

With their creativity, resourcefulness, and passion, our youth can be the most influential ambassadors for change.

10 World Vision youth leaders from Cambodia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Philippines, and Thailand participated in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) 5th Asian Youth Forum (AYF) in Yokohama, Japan on May 2-7, 2017. The AYF is ADB’s annual youth forum on increasing the recognition of young people's contribution to Asia’s development.

This year, the 5th AYF was a prelude to the 50th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the ADB - Building Together the Prosperity of Asia, which was themed "Youth for Prosperity of Asia and the Pacific."

Meet 10 inspiring youth of Asia. Know their hopes, dreams, and aspirations.
