World Vision Zambia provides relief to over 5000 survivors of floods in Zambia
World Vision Zambia has launched a two million US Dollar emergency humanitarian response to support over 400,000 people affected by floods across the country.
Speaking during the flag-off of the response, World Vision Zambia Humanitarian Emergency Affairs director Bernard Zgambo said the initial support would help survivors recover from distress caused by the floods.
The organisation is already responding to the needs of internally displaced people in Mazabuka, Monze, Namwala, and Sinazongwe in Southern province by providing food, and non-food items, Water and Sanitation, and hygiene services.

World Vision Zambia and its partners come to the aid of flood victims in Southern Province
World Vision Zambia declares a CAT I National Response for the floods that have affected over 400,000 people in Zambia after consultation with the Southern Africa Regional Office on 15 February 2023. World Vision Zambia is particularly concerned about the wellbeing of vulnerable children in the affected areas. The number of people in need continues to rise due to continued precipitation as well as the continued disruption of livelihoods, infrastructure and property. The impact of this flooding is highest among the most vulnerable children.

Flood Church and World Vision reach out to flood victims
Flood Church, on Friday, joined World Vision to donate assorted items to people affected by flooding disasters in Malawi’s southern district of Chikwawa. The donation, which took place at Kapasule Camp in Traditional Authority Maseya in Chikwawa district, benefited 440 households to the tune of USD 5,000.
