Facing the future with knowledge, skills, confidence and hope.
Mahboba , 6 (pictured above), lives in Afghanistan and wants to grow up to be a teacher. Being educated herself is essential to her achieving her dream.
Ensuring that all children are educated for life is a priority in all of our long-term work. We aim to help children develop the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative skills they will need to become confident participants in the life of their community, having a say in how their future is being shaped.
But we go far beyond formal, classroom based learning. We also provide informal education in contexts where schools aren’t the answer.
We work with children living on the street, in remote villages or with children-headed households, providing both basic education and teaching them vital life skills.
We work with adults on topics like health awareness or improved farming techniques. And we work with younger adults, providing training in livelihood skills.
Education and training equip children with essential life skills - helping them to face the future full of hope and confidence.
