AFGHANISTAN: Lack of snow raises fears of further drought as children and communities suffer impacts of climate crisis
A warmer-than-average winter and lack of snow are ominous signs of worsening climatic and drought conditions in Afghanistan which is already suffering its worst drought in 30 years, five international NGOs warned today.

Joint Statement: Prioritizing school enrolments for Ukraine refugee children in Moldova, Poland and Romania
Many refugee children are at risk of losing another one or more school years if they are not better supported to enroll in the national school system. We are calling for a renewed sense of urgency, and action among host country governments and donors to ensure all refugee children from Ukraine can enroll in and attend school in national systems as soon as possible.

Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is a low-cost land restoration technique used to combat poverty and hunger amongst subsistence farmers. It can reverse desertification, increase food, water and commodity production, and build resilience to climate extremes. It almost sounds too good to be true, but it is very real. The special ingredients are passing the knowledge to local communities, mobilising the message and transferring the skills in language they can understand, by people they can trust.
