59 child friendly spaces in Ukraine and Moldova at risk of closure as funding declines
Since the beginning of World Vision's response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, a total of 37 child friendly spaces are operational in Moldova and 22 in Ukraine, being implemented by trained partners.

Defying all odds to create a ‘Better Future’
Yvonne is an 18-year-old girl who lives in Huye District. She is the first born in a family of four girls. While that is a blessing, her father did not think so as he still held on to regressive views of the boy child being more valuable than the girl child. He constantly harassed their mother for not giving birth to sons and also refused to take responsibility of providing for his children. Yvonne’s family was already living in poverty and in disputes but this worsened when they had the fourth girl. She was born with mobility challenges and deaf-blindness.

A Bicycle of Hope to Jane’s journey of becoming a Nurse
World Vision Zambia in 2022 launched a Strong Girls Strong Zambia campaign, to help girls like Jane complete their education. The campaign aims to offer educational support 15,000 girls retrieved and at risk of child marriage by 2025.
