World Vision Lesotho

About Us

World Vision Lesotho was established in 1987.

The organisation depended entirely on child sponsorship funds for its operations until 2002 during a drought emergency, when it started to receive grants from private donors to implement relief and livelihood recovery.

The office has improved the lives of thousands of poor families in 16 Area Development Programmes (ADPs).

Today, World Vision is helping more than 36,000 sponsored children and their families, and has the largest emergency relief operation in the country, distributing about half of all food aid in Lesotho to some 345,000 people.

Violence, in all its forms, is the biggest issue affecting children today. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
