Governor Launches 2nd Phase of Charity Water Project in Maradi region

The Governor of Maradi Zakari Oumarou has launched the 2nd Phase of the Charity Water Project in the Maradi region. Charity Water Project embarked on its 1st phase in 2016 and chalked many successes in providing potable drinking water to some communities within the Dosso region.

The 2nd Phase of the project which was launched Friday May12, 2017 is to ensure there is extensive water coverage in all World Vision intervention areas in Maradi. At the launch,  Zakari Oumarou (Governor of Maradi region) entreated community members to adhere to all the hygiene and sanitation practices championed by World Vision.

He mentioned the provision of potable drinking water in both Sabon Machi and Maiyara communities was the sure way to eradicate open defaction and diseases. He further expressed his gratitude to World Vision and Charity Water Project for promoting water, sanitation and hygiene in the region as a whole. Governor Oumarou pledged to ensure both communities become open defecation free by December, 2017.

National Director, Albert Kodio received a Testimony of Satisfaction in recognition of World Vision Niger's work in the region.
