More than 1 million people have been reached since World Vision's teams started responding to the hunger crisis in Somalia.

Still, there's more work to do. World Vision continues to be concerned that:

  • 6.2 million people are in need of humanitarian and protection assistance
  • 4 million people are in need of life-saving food assistance
  • 4.5 million people need clean water, sanitation and hygiene support
  • More than one million people have been displaced due to drought and conflict

To respond, World Vision aims to provide more people with life-saving and life-changing assistance.

Due to the ongoing drought and conflict, World Vision Somalia is requesting an additional US $14 million to reach people who urgently need emergency assistance to access food, clean water, health care, nutrition, child protection, income and employment, shelter and education.
