Price Shocks: Economic gains masking a growing hunger and malnutrition crisis
World Vision's annual price survey analyses global food prices over the past three years. This Price Shocks report is a continuation of our 2021 and 2022 studies with findings showing a slight dip in the highest costs of living for some while others remain at previously marked crisis levels. This year's findings continue to underscore the uneven recovery from the socioeconomic shocks from COVID-19, inflation, and extreme weather and indicates a disparity of food prices, both in the current cost of the basket of 10 common food items and in the year-on-year comparisons.
