Child Well Being (CWB) constitutes the core of all World Vision Lanka’s work. WVL’s programmes are designed to secure the well-being of vulnerable and marginalised children located in the areas of its operation. The publication – ‘Child Well Being; Looking Beyond the MDGs’ outlines WVL’s key programmatic areas; the nature of its collaboration and partnerships; and its unique priority-focus on addressing the needs and rights of Most Vulnerable Children (MVC). It highlights WVL’s response to both national and international policy, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in realising core developmental needs of children and their communities. The scope of WVL’s development initiatives and extent of its coverage (in rural, urban and estate sectors) affords much learning that can inform Sri Lanka’s future development trajectory. The report highlights key features that pre-position WVL programmes to contribute to the post-2015 agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
