Celebrating children's rights in Timor-Leste

Two days in June 2013 to celebrate children’s rights in Timor-Leste drew big crowds with 650 attending in Baucau district on 1 June and 250 in Aileu district on 26 June. These photos are from Aileu, in the village of Bereleu, Lequidoe sub district.

Both days were organized by WVTL's Early Childhoold Care and Development (ECCD) teams. The events featured  a mix of fun and games including races and marbles, plus competitions for drawing and for cultural singing and dancing.

Speakers highlighted the importance of children’s rights such as rights to life, to development and to protection.
