Universal Access to WASH in Rwanda
Over the past two decades, water service coverage levels have been steadily increasing in Rwanda, though significant gaps remain in many rural communities. In 2018, World Vision committed to reaching 1 million people with access to clean drinking water with the goal of reaching everyone in the areas World Vision works in Rwanda by 2023, through scaling up programming in Rwanda’s most underserved areas. Through the collective effort of a government-led network of actors, achievement of universal water coverage in the 39 sectors (sub-districts) prioritised by World Vision was achieved in 2023.

Access to water and sanitation sees 50% increase in school's enrolment
Khalakahle Methodist Primary School in Mpolonjeni, under the Lubombo Region in Eswatini, lacked access to basic necessities such as access to clean water, learners and teachers were not so keen to be part of the school. With Mpolonjeni Area Programme having achieved universal access to safe water under World Vision Eswatini's support, the school has seen a change in this area, with enrolment growing from just over 300 to over 450.

How Facilitating Engagements With Adolescent Girls and Young Women Positively Impacted Bongimpilo's Own Life
Bongimpilo, of Mantambe Area Programme, has been part of the “Halting The Spread Of HIV Amongst The Swazi Society” Project, which aims to transform the lives of young girls and women in underprivileged communities, since 2022. As Bongimpilo continued to work on the project, she found solace in knowing that she wasn't alone in her journey. She connected with other team members who shared similar experiences, forming a support network that helped her navigate her own challenges. Together, they shared stories, offered encouragement, and provided a safe space for vulnerability.
