Baby- Mother Space for World Vision Uganda Staff

Monday, April 4, 2016

Breast Feeding staff at World Vision Uganda are now able to continue breast feeding even at office. This after the National office opened a baby-mother space, as one measure to ensure that all children are exclusively breastfed during and after the first six month of their lives. Breastfeeding, especially when done exclusively for the first six months, helps babies develop immunity against many diseases. Unfortunately, work prevents many mothers from exclusively breastfeeding their babies. As a child-focused organisation, World Vision Uganda did not want to have scenarios where some of its staff are not able to exclusively breastfeed their children due to work. Staff will now come with their babies, leave them with a care taker in the nursery and go to their offices. At given break-times, staff will go to the Nursery to check on their babies and to breast feed them.
