World Vision South Sudan is using cash-based programming to provide IDP's an alternative of getting food and other commodities of their choice

With markets present in the Juba Protection of Civillians camp (PoC), and beneficiaries demonstrating the desire to purchase alternative food commodities, WFP and World Vision looked at the potential to replace part of the in-kind food relief with cash or vouchers. internally displaced people (IDPs) now have access to a diversified food basket in their households plus secondary benefits in stimulating the local economy and helping to re-establish livelihoods and productive capacity through the support of local traders.
