World Vision began working in Myanmar some 40 years ago and had more than 500 staff in the country when the cyclone hit.
World Vision’s national staff responded to the disaster in the immediate hours after it occurred - providing food aid, shelter materials and safe drinking water as well as conducting child protection activities. Today, more than 338,000 people in Yangon and the Ayeyawaddy Delta have received assistance.
World Vision’s long term response continues to focus on the needs of children and their families, specifically around psychosocial care for children and livelihood recovery support for their parents. More info...
