Monday, August 17, 2015

14 August 2015- World Vision distributed family kits from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia to 500 households. Each family kit included items like: personal hygiene items, laundry soap, mosquito net, jerry can, kitchen set, blankets, candles, school materials, radio, and water purification tabs.

“World Vision previously supplied us the water purification sachets and now, these household products that we getting are very useful for starting our day to day lives again,” said Ma Mar Mar Than, age 30, from Yenan Chaung Township. “We thank the donors from Australia for these materials and for the emotional support,” said Ma Mar Mar Than.

Most of the villagers’ household materials are no longer in good condition after the flood and therefore, these new items for everyday use are very important to begin returning to normalcy.

Apart from the materials, World Vision also plans to continue provide clean water to the villages in this area of Yenan Chaung Township.
