What's for Lunch?
Every school day Swe, 11, helps her grandmother to pack her lunch box. “My favourite is rice and potato-chicken curry. I also love watercress and prefer it to be fried,” said Swe who sometimes shares her lunch with her best friends at school. Swe leaves home at 5:30am for school, which ends at noon. She lives with just her grandmother as her mother left the family almost three years ago.
“I’ve been trained by through workshops and talks from World Vision,” said Swe’s grandmother. “If I don’t keep an eye on the cooking and Swe’s health, I know she will not grow up healthy. My granddaughter has to go straight to tuition classes every day after school and therefore, it is important for her to eat properly and be healthy to concentrate on her studies."
