While half of Mongolia's population lives in the capital, rural areas struggle with a lack of understanding about sanitation and clean water systems.

Launched in 2007, World Vision's programme on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene , made significant strides towards ensuring available and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all in Cambodia.

“In the past, I used to experience diarrhea frequently. On some days, the pain in my stomach was so bad that I couldn’t even walk, so I would miss class,” recalls 18-year-old Theresa, who has spent her entire life in Mphunza Village under Nzamane’s chiefdom in Zambia’s eastern province. Like many others in her community, Theresa’s village was heavily affected by waterborne diseases, impacting both children and adults.

In 2022, Kitui and Tana River Counties endured severe droughts, impacting crops, water, and livelihoods. Through USAID-BHA-funded KIERP, World Vision Kenya built water sources and storage tanks to support schools and health centers, alleviating the crisis.

World Vision Zambia has extensive experience in implementing various donor-funded water, sanitation and hygiene programmes in communities and refugee settlements. With an average annual budget of US$4 million, World Vision Zambia’s WASH programme is addressing goal number 6 of the SDGs, which is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. We have been implementing the Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (iWASH) since 2008 with the goal to improve the health status of .mothers and children under the age of 5.

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) intervention are making a difference in the lives of people following the installation of a small-scale water supply system. At least 17 households can now access clean and safe water at the convenience of their homes through a project led by World Vision with the support of

World Vision hosts the Southern Africa WASH Forum 2024, focusing on clean water access, sanitation, hygiene, and strategies for vulnerable communities in Africa.

World Vision Zambia, in partnership with UNICEF Zambia and Chibwika Chiefdom, has been working to improve sanitation and hygiene behaviours by conducting awareness and encouraging communities to build pit latrines in 137 villages.
