A volunteer reading club facilitator in Bosuso transforms her life through vocational training by World Vision Ghana, launching a successful soap-making business that empowers her family and inspires her community.

In a major stride towards improving foundational learning outcomes in Zambia, World Vision Zambia actively participated in the orientation session for Members of Parliament (MPs) on the #CATCHUP Programme at the National Assembly’s Media Centre. This pivotal event was aimed at equipping policymakers with critical information about the project, fostering ownership, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of these vital educational interventions.

Magidu, the eldest of six children, was forced to abandon his dream of university education due to financial hardship. Despite dropping out of school, he held onto hope for a better future. In 2018, World Vision recognized his potential and sponsored his training as a motorcycle mechanic, providing tuition and starter kits. Magidu excelled in his training and went on to establish Jimex Motor Garage and Spare Parts.

Sibonelo was able to focus on her education, complete school, and now plans to pursue an electrical wiring course. Her family established a thriving garden, enjoys nutritious meals, and runs a small poultry business, supported by reliable water access. The availability of safe water has strengthened their livelihoods and opened new opportunities for a better future.
