Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is Transforming Landscapes: A case study of Somaliland
Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is a low-cost land restoration technique used to combat poverty and hunger amongst subsistence farmers. It can reverse desertification, increase food, water and commodity production, and build resilience to climate extremes. It almost sounds too good to be true, but it is very real. ZANACO Bank’s partnership with World Vision Zambia gifts 50 bicycle to vulnerable school girls
In a touching demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Zambia National Commercial (ZANACO) Bank has donated 50 bicycles to World Vision Zambia’s Strong Girls Strong Zambia campaign with the aim of supporting vulnerable girls on their journey towards empowerment and education in Mufumbwe District.
The donation event hosted at World Vision’s Distribution Centre, marked a significant milestone in the collaboration and running partnership between the ZANACO and World Vision.
In December 2023, World Vision Zambia, in partnership with World Bicycle Relief Zambia launched a fundraiser to buy 2,000 bicycles for vulnerable girls to shorten their commute time to school. And ZANACO, during the launch committed and pledged 175,000 Kwacha towards the purchase of 50 bicycles to support the campaign.
