Press Release for G20. Global humanitarian aid agency World Vision joins the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, pledging $3.4 billion to combat child hunger and malnutrition worldwide.

This is the two years on report for the Global Hunger Response, including highlights from the last fiscal year (FY24).

Today, children in East Africa face an array of challenges. Conflict disrupts lives in Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan and Ethiopia, forcing families to flee their homes and depriving children of safety, stability, and access to education. Of particular concern, is the dire food insecurity in the region, occasioned by the polycrisis of conflict, climate change and economic hardship.

A petition letter developed by ACVD members from Brazil, Mexico and endorsed by ACVD members from Chile will be shared with young leaders from other G20 countries.

The right to food is not just a fundamental human right but also a critical pillar for building healthier, stronger communities. This Child-Led Study on the Lived Experiences and Perspectives of Children in East Asia is the result of the dedication and hard work of children aged 12-18 years old who are currently engaged with World Vision East Asia through the Young Minds CAMP - a regional leadership development academy.
