G20 Children’s Petition Letter
Monday, November 11, 2024

School meals are a vital lifeline. But globally, only two in five children have access to them.

Join young Changemakers in saying ENOUGH to child hunger and malnutrition. Ahead of the G20 Summit in Brazil on 18-19 November 2024, call on your leader to ensure children EVERYWHERE to have access to healthy and nutritious meals in school.

Members of the World Vision-supported Amplifying Children’s Voices Digitally project are calling on G20 global leaders and the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty to take urgent action to end child hunger and malnutrition.

The group, which consists of children and young people aged 10-18 from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ghana and Mexico, came together to discuss their own experiences in their communities and find solutions to the critical issue, after it was revealed that more than 733 million people faced hunger in 2023.

They developed a series of proposals and urge leaders to take action to eradicate poverty and implement school meals programmes “so that all children and adolescents can have a healthy meal daily.”
