ZEST Project Impresses Scottish Minister – Ben Macpherson
Zambia Education School – based Training (ZEST) project under World Vision Zambia Literacy Technical Programme (ZREAD) hosted the Minister for Europe Migration and International Development, Ben Macpherson at Liteta Primary School in Chibombo district.
Mr Macpherson expressed joy towards Scottish partnership with World Vision Zambia that was yielding positive results in both pupils and teachers after his visit.
ZEST aims to strengthen Teachers teaching skills through school based continuous professional development targeting over 200 Teachers. The project is being implemented in 17 schools of Chibombo district in three selected zones.
“Today’s visit is a great opportunity to see the difference Scottish government support is making here in Zambia in partnership with Open University and World Vision Zambia in terms of improving Teacher training in order to enhance the educational experience of pupils at the school.” he said.
“I am very happy to see the difference that our support is making on the ground and to experience the project first hand in my own eyes.” he concluded.
District Education Board Secretary - Chibombo, Grace Banda expressed her gratitude to World Vision Zambia through its partnership with the Scottish government.
World Vision Zambia National Director, John Hasse, Technical Programme Manager Maureen Simuchembu and District Education Board Secretary - Chibombo, Grace Banda among others were present during the visit.
