Channels of Hope Child Protection Train the Facilitator eWorkshop

This eWorkshop is a 9-week course for field staff and partners who want to become certified Channels of Hope Facilitators and use the skills acquired to conduct local-level workshops with faith communities, as part of ongoing programming. Ideally, participants who enroll in this eWorkshop should have either formal theological training and knowledge or formal training in the related technical curricula area (i.e., child protection, gender, etc.)

Who is this course for?
  • This course is for field staff and partners who want to become certified as Channels of Hope Child Protection and use the skills acquired to conduct local level workshops with faith communities, as part of ongoing programming. Ideally, participants should have either formal theological training and knowledge, such as faith leaders, or formal training in the technical curricula area (i.e., child protection, gender, or related). What will I learn?
  • Participants will learn how to facilitate CoH Child Protection workshops, including minimum related technical information and how to navigate challenging theological issues; they are also mentored in facilitation skills. 
Prerequisites
  • Channels of Hope online orientation
  • Learning agreement signed by you and your manager
  • Strong reading and writing skills in English
  • Submit the two pre-training assignments.

 

Length and time commitment
  • 9 weeks
  • 5-7 hours of work per course week, including a weekly 90-minute synchronous zoom session

  • Interactive modules with knowledge check questions

  •  Individual exercises 
Support
  • A team of subject-matter expert facilitators and a course manager will guide the group through the materials. You will also learn from the experiences and perspectives of other participants from around the world. 
Accessibility and technology
  • Regular Internet access is required to participate (low bandwidth OK)
  • eCampus can be accessed via a mobile app, but a computer is preferred 
Deadline and certification requirements

Certification

  • Must complete all activities
  • Attend all synchronous Zoom sessions (unless excused from the e-Facilitation team)
  • Submit pre-training assignments,
  • Pass both Written Assessment A and Written Assessment B
  •  Complete two practical facilitation with ratings from a group of peers.

Deadlines

 

  • For each weekly module, you will have a set of tasks to complete, but you can choose when to log in and contribute within the set weekly timeframe.
