Women Economic Empowerment in Nepal: Issues, Challenges and Way Forward

In 2021, World Vision International (WVI) Nepal in collaboration with National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal (NARMIN) and Bikash Udhyami (Development Entrepreneurs) conducted a municipality-level study to understand various dimensions of women's economic empowerment in Nepal considering policy provisions and practices following the implementation of federal context in Nepal. Conducted with a focus on 20 Rural Municipalities across Nepal, the research has analysed the local governments’ initiatives on empowering women economically, highlighted issues and challenges, and also presented recommendations going forward.
