Miguel Gutierrez
Miguel is a Civil Engineer with over 12 years of experience in development projects. He has led projects in the areas of WASH, Urban Transformation, Child Protection and Participation, and Violence Prevention. He holds a Graduate Certificate in International Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene from the University of Nevada, Reno (Desert Research Institute).
He was part of World Vision El Salvador for 7 years, where he led technical programmes focused on environmental transformation, social cohesion, and child protection and participation. He also served as the leader of the WASH Programme for World Vision El Salvador, along with other strategic initiatives. Miguel has also worked on innovation for development as part of the Accelerator Lab of UNDP in El Salvador.
His previous experience in violence prevention and his understanding of the conditions of injustice and vulnerability faced by much of the population in Latin America have led him to focus on improving the lives of children, providing them with a more dignified, safe, and joyful life through transformative WASH interventions that integrate other key sectors to accelerate progress.
Miguel is a father to Emilia and Marcelo, and husband to Fátima.
