Australia and World Vision in AUD 3.8 million partnership for sustainable development
Australia and World Vision are partnering in a AUD3.8 million water and sanitation program for children and their communities in the Nuwara Eliya district. The partnership is in collaboration with the Central and Local governments, Plantation management and community based organizations.

Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is Transforming Landscapes: A case study of Somaliland
Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) is a low-cost land restoration technique used to combat poverty and hunger amongst subsistence farmers. It can reverse desertification, increase food, water and commodity production, and build resilience to climate extremes. It almost sounds too good to be true, but it is very real. The special ingredients are passing the knowledge to local communities, mobilising the message and transferring the skills in language they can understand, by people they can trust.

A new global Ipsos study conducted on behalf of World Vision International in 16 countries reveals almost four in ten (37%) of parents/guardians say their children are not getting the proper nutrients they need on a daily basis, and 21% say their children have gone to bed hungry in the last 30 days. No More Hunger: Ministry of Health, European Union, Australia and World Vision enabled vulnerable communities to tackle malnutrition despite COVID-19
On Friday 16th of September, the Department of Hygiene and Health Promotion of the Ministry of Health, the European Union, the Australian Embassy, and World Vision co-chaired the National Closing Ceremony of the Accelerating Healthy Agriculture and Nutrition (AHAN) Project with the total cost of 11 M€ including 10 M€ of EU contribution. The ceremony aimed at concluding five years of the project’s implementation, sharing out the key findings of the recent end-line evaluation with the stakeholders and policy-makers towards nutrition, including various ministries of the Government of Lao PDR, development partners, UN agencies, and other Non-Governmental organisations.
