Technical Brief: Zambia WASH Insurance Project

Between 2018 and 2021, World Vision Zambia partnered with Professional Insurance Company to insure 40 water systems in 8 districts across Zambia. This insurance covers water facility components that are too expensive to be purchased or replaced using existing user fees paid by communities as operation and maintenance fees of the water facilities.

This technical brief highlights key processes followed to achieve sustained water access among communities and critical outcomes of insuring 40 water supply facilities in 8 districts.
