Stephen joined World Vision's Ethiopia Office in May 2020 as the Senior Director for Impact and Strategic Partnerships. He transitioned to the Interim Operations Director in May 2022 and became the substantive Operations Director in March 2023. With a background in forestry and postgraduate studies towards a Ph.D. in International Development, Stephen has held various leadership roles within World Vision in New Zealand, Australia, and the Global Centre, now leading in Ethiopia.
With nearly two decades of experience, Stephen is a dynamic leader in international and community development, excelling in driving impact, innovation, operational efficiencies, financial management, and strategic acquisitions. He excels in leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high-impact development programs. His work spans across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Pacific, focusing on marginalized and vulnerable communities.
Stephen holds a BForSC (Hons) from the University of Canterbury and a DipBS from Faith Bible College, both in New Zealand. He has also pursued postgraduate studies towards a Ph.D. in International Development at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
