World Food Day 2024: Right to Foods for a Better Life and a Better Future
Lives across Southern Africa have been severely impacted as droughts and other extreme weather events driven by El Niño devastate communities, erasing years of development. Families are struggling to survive, with children facing severe food insecurity. We cannot stand by while they are caught in the crossfire of these climate-related disasters.
In response, World Vision Southern Africa and the World Food Programme (WFP) have launched a joint campaign to raise awareness about the alarming food insecurity caused by El Niño. As we count down to World Food Day, under the theme “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,” we call on governments, donors, and global partners to invest in anticipatory programming and provide crucial support to those affected across the region.
Together, we can make a difference. But more must be done.
