Technical Academy

Our online learning approach:

Our 'eWorkshops' for practitioners are facilitated online courses which run for six to fourteen weeks. Participants can expect to spend three to five hours each week participating in course activities, completing individual work and interacting with others, alongside their day-to-day work.

eWorkshop participants learn from each other and from expert facilitators, through discussions, experience-sharing and collaborative problem-solving. This interactive online learning community allows practitioners to develop deeper understanding and practical skills. Participants can apply what they are learning in the field immediately and then reflect back on their experiences and any questions they might have with the group.

Our eWorkshops follow a standard weekly schedule, yet participants are able to choose when and how often they log on to complete the tasks within the week. This approach provides the flexibility necessary for the different time-zones, travel commitments and connectivity issues facing our global participants, while also ensuring they benefit from interacting with their peers and facilitators.

Why attend a Technical Academy online course?

World Vision’s technical approaches have been developed and refined over time, leveraging our world-class technical expertise and global implementation experience. Our approaches are built on a strong evidence base and have been tried and tested in communities all over the world. By sharing our learning externally, we hope to strengthen the positive impact of global development work.

Are you a partner directly collaborating with World Vision? Do you belong to another organisation interested in adopting a similar approach? Perhaps you are already implementing a World Vision approach based on our published guidance?

Joining one of our eWorkshops will inspire and equip you to apply our technical approaches effectively. What’s more, you will have the chance to connect, discuss and exchange experiences with a global group of fellow practitioners as you are guided by expert facilitators, from World Vision and beyond.

Successful participants receive a certification of completion at the end of the course.

What our participants say

"I gained confidence from the experiences shared in the workshop and the guidance of the facilitators. The discussions built a better me and I found myself in a good position to support agents and groups.

The impact of this is that S4T is now the leading model, and has gone beyond the program area. The agents we have trained have had so much confidence in sharing the benefits of the model…resulting in them being invited to train in other surrounding areas."
