World Vision in Afghanistan
World Vision began emergency relief operations in Afghanistan in 2001. The five-year project, aimed at addressing the urgent needs of children and families affected by the drought and decades of conflict initially benefited more than 14 million people.
Since then, World Vision has transitioned its operations to long-term sustainable, community-based development, primarily focused in four sectors: health, education, livelihood generation and protection.
