Severe flooding in hard hit West Bengal
4 August 2015 - INDIA - More than 160 dead and over 8 million people affected by massive flooding and landslides in West Bengal, Manipur, Gujarat, and Odisha.
Heavy monsoon rains in different areas of India have claimed the lives of at least 160 people and forced tens of thousands of people to take shelter in relief camps, over the past few days. More than 10,000 villages are affected, crops, houses, roads, and bridges have been destroyed.
The World Vision response will be focusing on providing immediate relief assistance as well as livelihood and shelter interventions.
