The Child Safe Traveller - English Language
DownloadThe Child Safe Traveller presents findings of research conducted in Bangkok, Thailand, with nearly 270 travellers from 39 countries.
The report describes tourists encounters with children in Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam, and illustrates that tourists have limited awareness of how their behaviours and seemingly innocent interactions with children can inadvertently contribute to children’s vulnerability to sexual abuse. The findings also showed that tourists desire more information on child safe tourism and that exposure to these messages correlates to improved behaviour and decision making that better protects children.
