11 Facts: Life in northern Uganda's refugee settlements

This week the UN announced that the 1 millionth South Sudanese refugee crossed the border into Uganda. 

World Vision, in partnership with UNHCR, and Caritas, conducted an inter-agency study of refugees and host communities in two refugee settlements in Arua district, in northern Uganda.

The study interviewed 1,135 people to learn about the challenges refugees face when they arrive and the challenges host communities experience in welcoming the new arrivals.
