After more than half a century of war and more than four years of negotiations between the Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC in Spanish), World Vision celebrates the peace agreement reached by the Colombian Government and FARC in Havana, Cuba on August 24, 2016.

As an organization, World Vision has been promoting peace through its work for decades.

While the signing of the agreement is a major milestone, the process does not end here. As a country, Colombia has a long road still ahead of it. But, this new step towards peace and reconciliation represents, without a doubt, a hope for future generations to live in a different land and with opportunities for all.

The final agreement represents a hope for the children, teenagers and young people to live in a different country and with opportunities for all of them.

This voluntary agreement opens a window of opportunity to think that the children of Colombia can live in a country without violence, in a country that respects and guarantees their rights, in a country that hears them and in a country that allows them to participate in all the spaces offered by our democracy.

As an organization in favor of the well-being and tender protection of children, World Vision is ready to contribute so that this new path that begins in Colombia, delivers peace for all, especially for children and youth.
