Bacon & Egg Pie
Te Huia Clarke

“There are little memories like when I learned how to crack an egg,
how my mum taught me and I would like to pass this on to my own tamariki (children).
Food is about bringing everyone together and this meal is one of our favourites.”

Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C and grease a medium-sized oven dish.
- Lay 1 pastry sheet across the bottom and the sides of the dish.
- Crack your eggs into a medium-sized bowl, making sure you don’t get any shell in there.
- Add diced bacon and grated cheese to the eggs and whisk until well combined.
- Lay another pastry sheet over the top of the pie, making sure it is connected to the other pastry at the sides.
- Cook for 20-30 minutes, cool slightly then enjoy with tomato sauce on the side.
