For Immediate Release
Lusaka, Zambia - As we mark International Children's Broadcast Day on March 3, 2024, Joining Forces Alliance Zambia affirms its commitment to amplify children's voices across the country. Under the theme "Children's Voices, Children's Rights - Our Collective Responsibility", we recognize the critical importance of providing platforms for children to express themselves and defend their rights.

In Zambia, we strongly believe that children are not only the future but also the present. Their views, aspirations and concerns deserve to be heard and respected. We strive to empower children through various media channels and allow them to express their experiences, dreams and challenges. We thus contribute to a society where their rights are respected, and their voices are valued.

Joining Forces Alliance Zambia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, is pleased to announce that over 600 children will participate in the celebrations, and some will take over the broadcast. Through radio broadcasts, television programs, and online channels, these young voices will resonate across the country, sparking conversations, raising awareness, and inspiring positive change.

International Children's Day in Broadcasting reminds us that protecting children's rights is a collective responsibility. All sectors of society—government, civil society, media organizations, and individuals—must prioritize the well-being and empowerment of our children.

Joining Forces Alliance Zambia expresses its gratitude to all partners and stakeholders who worked together to make this celebration possible. Together, we are building a more inclusive and just society where every child's voice is heard and respected.

As we commemorate this momentous day, let us recommit ourselves to championing children's rights, amplifying their voices and ensuring that they are active participants in shaping their futures.

Notes to the Editor:
In 2017, the six largest child-focused agencies—ChildFuod International, Piao International, Save the Children International, SOS Children's Villages, Terre des Hommes International Federation, and World Vision International—joined forces. We aim to use our collective power to accelerate change to secure children's rights and end violence against them. We will pilot and scale innovative and effective approaches worldwide that are driven by the voices and needs of children.
