Chisinau, Moldova – On 11 April 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and World Vision have signed a Agreement of Cooperation, reflecting the commitment of both parties to uphold human rights, develop social projects at national and international level and promote good governance and effective administration.

The agreement was signed by Minister Adrian Efros and Ukraine Crisis Response Moldova Operations Director Youssef Mhanna, and will pursue joint humanitarian efforts between the Moldova Ministry of Internal Affairs and World Vision.

"We thank World Vision for the great work that you were doing in Moldova during this crisis aiming to work closely with you to support the most vulnerable. This new project that we are planning to do together will not only give space for children to play and do activities but also it can be a perfect place to support refugees", says Minister Adrian Efros.
"
This aims to achieve the common goal of ensuring the fundamental rights of children, with a particular focus on strengthening the various key systems on child protection, health, education and early childhood development.

The agreement includes:

  • Developing bilateral cooperation to create modern structures to enhance public security and facilitate the implementation of humanitarian programmes;
  • Mutual assistance in identifying and establishing working contacts with governmental and non-governmental organizations and other international organizations;
  • Organizing the exchange of information to strengthen the protection of human rights and public security.

"I am honored to represent World Vision forging this vital partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I have witnessed the fruitful relationship we established with the Moldovan Government since 2022. This collaboration benefited and supported the most vulnerable Ukrainian and Moldovan children, ensuring their access to the care and resources they need to thrive, especially protection", shares Mhanna.

"
He further adds, "
World Vision is committed to implementing impactful programs and initiatives that positively impact children lives. As we sign this Memorandum of Agreement, let us seize the opportunity to deepen our collaboration and reach even more children in need. Together, we can make a lasting difference and create a bright future for all."

This collaboration will facilitate the export of expertise through protocols associated with international projects and will contribute to improving the lives of children and families in the Republic of Moldova.
