World Vision at the

Human Rights Council

The 55th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC55) opens on Monday, 26 February 2024, and lasts until 5 April 2024. World Vision's engagement will focus on the Annual Day of the Rights of the Child, taking place on March 14.

The Human Rights Council is the main intergovernmental body within the United Nations responsible for human rights. It is responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe. It provides a platform for World Vision and other NGO partners to advocate for the needs and rights of vulnerable populations, particularly children in impoverished or crisis-affected regions. We raise awareness about critical issues of child rights such as poverty, hunger, health, education, child protection, and violence against children, among others.

At #HRC55, World Vision's main engagements are centred upon the right to food with the Geneva launch of the ENOUGH Global Campaign as well as inclusive social protection as the central theme of the resolution of the right of the child. Children mainstreaming including participation is at the centre of our engagement.

We have ENOUGH. Let’s eliminate child malnutrition.
Let’s end child hunger now.
ENOUGH of the right foods — even in crises.
ENOUGH funding for nutrition.
ENOUGH food policies and services centred on and
influenced by children.
Every child should enjoy ENOUGH nourishing food to thrive.
