According to official statistics, approximately 14% of Lesotho's youth are involved in various forms of child labour. While children worldwide may engage in work that is deemed safe and appropriate for their age, many are subjected to activities that are harmful and detrimental to their development. In Lesotho, the most prevalent forms of child labour include:

Herding Animals:

Full-time work in often harsh conditions.

Domestic Work:

Full-time, which may involve long hours and minimal rest.

Street Work:

Including vending and trading, exposing children to various risks.

Agricultural and Mining Labour:

Working in fields and illegal mines in South Africa, often under exploitative conditions.

The worst forms of child labour are also significant concerns, including:

Sexual Exploitation:

Children being subjected to abuse and exploitation.

Illicit Activities:

Such as burglary and theft, sometimes linked to human trafficking.

Our mission is to create a safer, more equitable environment for all children by working closely with communities, stakeholders, and policymakers to eradicate these injustices and ensure a brighter future for every child.
