Meeting with the representatives of the new Government of Armenia (updated)

Recently World Vision Armenia met with the representatives of the Minisitry of Diaspora, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports in Armenia to introduce the areas of organization's interventions, challenges and successes, and discuss ways of further cooperation with the new Government.

First meeting was held with the Minister of Diaspora Mkhitar Hayrapetyan. World Vision Armenia's Country Director Zhirayr Edilyan introduced World Vision's programming in Armenia. World Vision Armenia's Youth Programmes' Manager Liana Sargsyan and Economic Development Programmes' Manager Husik Sargysan introduced the successes of the work with Syrian-Armenian refugee families.

World Vision Armenia's interventions in healthcare sector was discussed with the Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan, Deputy Minister Lena Nanushyan, the Head of the Department of Maternal and Child Health Protection Karine Saribekyan and the Head of the Division of International Cooperation and Protocol Hayk Grigoryan. World Vision Armenia's Early Childhood Development Programmes' Manager Karine Abelyan introduced World Vision's interventions to enhance the quality of healthcare and preschool educational services in 200 communities of Armenia, as well as World Vision's efforts to increase awareness among parents on child rights for health care and education, as well as for child care, nutrition and upbringing.

World Vision Armenia's work with the youth was discussed with the Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Qristine Asatryan and the Head of the Department  of Youth Policy Tamara Torosyan. World Vision Armenia's Youth Programmes' Manager Liana Sargsyan introduced World Vision's work with the youth in the communities of Armenia that aim to promote the use of their maximum potential as citizens and as economic subjects and ensuring youth transition well into adulthood with the skills, capacities and sustainable livelihoods to take care of their children. 

 

World Vision Armenia Country Director Zhirayr Edilyan and the managers for Early Childhood Development, Child Protection and Youth and Advocacy Programmes later met with the Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Suren Papikyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Mane Tandilyan. During these meetings early childhood development, educational, child protection and youth programmes were introduced and the further cooperation with the ministries were discussed.
