Mr Jinkook Kim is always busy with his work as he is General Director of Youngone Vietnam, a South Korea-based garment producer, but he never misses an event to give his company’s gifts to children in need, who live in World Vision’s programme areas.

This year, he left Nam Dinh province at 5 a.m. for Mai Chau, a mountainous district in the northern province of Hoa Binh. He spent five hours on the way as the driver got lost!

“I’m a bit tired from the long ride, but I enjoyed the landscape with mountains and forests in Mai Chau very much,” he recalls.

When arriving in the district, he joined with World Vision and local authorities to hand out the first pack of 2,800 warm jackets and 1,000 blankets to local primary students on 12 January 2016.

“I feel warm in my heart because I see happiness in the children’s eyes and smiles when they receive our presents. I’m glad that our products are helpful to them,” Mr. Kim adds.

The Lunar New Year gift is among 50,000 warm jackets and 16,000 blankets that Mr Kim and his staff have pledged to 66,000 children in World Vision’s working areas, namely, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri and Quang Ngai.

At the coming donation events, World Vision will organise awareness sessions on healthcare for the children and other community members.
