World Vision Mauritania female employees celebrates Women International Day

This year International Women’s Day was part of an unprecedented global movement in favor of the rights of women in term of equality and justice. The theme, this year was "The time has come: the activists took place in rural and urban areas and they are making difference and an immense transformation in their lives.

This theme is very important for us because it aligns perfectly with the objectives that are dear to World Vision in its daily duties, namely work within the communities in order to enhance the well-being of children in Mauritania.

The program of the day consisted of a meeting debate at the Hotel Coumbi Saleh on the theme regarding the Women and development  in Islam, in the presence of the Imam Boune Oumar Ly, Professor Aissata BA, Director in National Hospital , Christine Mukamugema, World Vision Mauritania Country Program Manager, Hamidou Diallo Manager Nouakchott AP Manager, Mama Barry Female religious leader, parliamentary leader Noura Mint Saleck and all female staff of WV Mauritania.

 

  The female staff of WV visited a kinder garden school and they donated Washing hand Kit took in order to raise children awareness on hand washing with soap during critical times. The kinder garden school embeds 114 child and 50 among them are in sponsorship program Nour Kindergarten that women visited to make a donation includes 114 children in total. 50 children among them are sponsored by World Vision. 

The details of the Wash Kits donation are: 30 cartons of Marseille soaps, 15 wash hand  + kettle (complete kit), 200 water cup for child, 10 Fontaine, 20 soap holders, 10 Basins in plastic for 10 liters. 

The whole female team of WV held a meetings in a Monotel Hotel and they discussed about the daily challenges regards women domestically and at workplaces as well as the opportunities to seize for a better life in the horizon A team building with World Vision Mauritania female staff was held at the hotel Monotel to discuss the problems that women face in their homes and in their workplace.

The celebration ended by the closing speech of Maitre Fatimata Mbaye, counsel in the court of Nouakchott, President of the Mauritanian Association of Human Rights (AMDH) committed to the rights of women in Mauritania and she won of the price of the woman Goralska 2016.
