Julia Smith-Brake
Julia Smith-Brake is the Senior Adolescent Programming Specialist with the Global Centre’s Education team and has been working in Adolescent Programming at the GC since January 2020, before which she worked with World Vision offices in the Solomon Islands (Pacific & Timor Leste Program Quality Advisor) and Cambodia (East Asia Senior DME Specialist). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and a Master of Science in Community Economic Development.
She is passionate about meaningful adolescent participation, amplifying their voices and including their input and engagement in World Vision's decision-making and approaches. She also loves developing and implementing digital, in-person, and innovative capacity building pathways to empower staff and volunteers to engage in Positive Youth Development. She is committed to listening to adolescents and community partners and ensuring high quality data collection, analysis, and use in World Vision programmes.
Julia is based in Montréal, Canada with her husband, Charlie, and their two daughters, Saméa and Éloïse. Their family loves playing board games, cooking together, doing art projects, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family. Julia can often be seen with a cup of coffee in her hand.
