Response Projects

World Vision Bosnia and Herzegovina is working closely with government, local partners, and civil society organisations to meet the urgent needs of migrants, refugees, and host communities, with a focus on child protection, education, health, and social inclusion.

CHILD PROTECTION

Ensuring protection and access to basic social services for refugee and migrant children project

This project, funded in large part by UNICEF aims to contribute to longer-term change through ensured protection and enhancing the coping strategies of the most vulnerable migrant refugee and asylum seeker and unaccompanied and separated children transiting through Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Project duration: June 2023 – May 2024

Project locations: Bosnia and Herzegovina; TRC Usivak-Sarajevo, Canton Sarajevo; and TRC Borici – Bihac, Una-Sana Canton

EDUCATION

Akelius Digital Language Course and inclusion of refugee and migrant children in formal education system

This project funded in large part by UNICEF aims to provide and facilitate language learning opportunities for refugee and migrant children through non-formal and vocational education activities and promote their inclusion in formal education through preparatory classes and vocational trainings.

Project duration: August 2022 – December 2023

HEALTH

Mothers/Fathers and infants in the TRC Usivak benefit from Mother and Baby Unit

This project funded by UNICEF aims to contribute to the longer-term change through ensured protection and enhancing the coping strategies of the most vulnerable migrant refugee and asylum seeker children and families transiting through Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SOCIAL INCLUSION

Social Participation of People on the move and Local Population in Host Communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina

This project supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) -- acting in on behalf of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to contribute to improved socio-cultural participation of people on the move in host communities through exchange of knowledge, skills and cultures of people on the move and local host communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Project duration: June 2023 – end of January 2025
