Johanna Ryan
Johanna is the WVI Global Director for Livelihoods. Prior to this, she served as Global Director of Impact for VisionFund International. In this role, she led the network’s efforts to build evidence of the impact of microfinance on the lives of VFI’s clients and their children. During her 13 years with VFI, she also held positions as Global Operations Director, Transformation Director, and Operational Effectiveness Director, spending considerable time in the field with colleagues and their clients to understand how best to reach and serve vulnerable families, and particularly the children.
Before joining VFI, Johanna had a 15-year career in global banking and securities operations with global banks such as Barclays and JPMorgan.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of South Carolina, as well as an MPhil. in English Literature from Oxford University.
Johanna is based in London in the United Kingdom where she is a Churchwarden of St Philip the Apostle church in Tottenham. She is married to Andrew and together they have one daughter, Beatrice.
