Food and Nutrition Security
Strategic Objective: Increase in number of children who are well nourished (ages 0-5)
The primary objective of food and nutrition interventions is to reduce malnutrition in children under the age of five. Our programmes are centered on enhancing household production of nutrient-dense foods in order to increase access and utilization of variety of dietary food.
Since the beginning of the current strategy's implementation (Fiscal year 21-Fiscal year 25), food and nutrition security interventions have reached a total of 1,144,348 people, including 526,400 children, through 21 area programs and 2 grants, with an emphasis on strengthening household capacity in food production, diversifying income generation by promoting savings, enterprise development, value addition, and marketing. Additionally, the programme also focused on addressing other causes of malnutrition related to attitude, poor dietary practices through community-based rehabilitation and behavior change intervention for families with underweight preschool children.
