Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) Project
CBDRR at a glance
Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) is a 3-year project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, in partnership with World Vision Japan. It is being implemented with local partners CSSD (Conscious Society for Social Development) in Kailali district and WAC Nepal (Working for Access and Creation Nepal) in Achham district.
During its implementation period from April 2023 to March 2026, the project aims to enhance the resilience of vulnerable populations in Kailali and Achham districts. The project is being implemented in Bhajani Municipality (Ward no. 3, 5 & 7), Tikapur Municipality (Ward no. 7, 8 & 9), and Janaki Rural Municipality (Ward no. 1, 4 & 9) in Kailali district, and Panchadewal Binayak Municipality (Ward no. 5 & 9) and Turmakhand Rural Municipality (Ward no. 1, 2, 3 & 6) in Achham district.
The project targets to benefit 67,000 children and adults in the targeted Palikas (Municipalities and Rural Municipalities) through interventions in three major themes: Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Livelihood, and Disaster-Resilient Infrastructure Development.
Goal
Enhance the resilience of vulnerable populations in the Karnali, Mohana, and Kandra River basins through bolstering disaster risk management capacity among the target communities in Achham and Kailali districts.
